How does the analysis work?
LinkDepth crawls your website starting from a URL, a sitemap or a list of URLs, follows internal links while respecting robots.txt, and computes for every page its click depth, inbound and outbound links, plus SEO recommendations. The crawl runs in batch mode to support sites with hundreds of thousands of URLs.
How is it different from Screaming Frog?
Screaming Frog is a very complete paid desktop application. LinkDepth is a free web tool focused on internal linking and page depth: nothing to install, the analysis runs in your browser with a PHP backend and you can resume it at any time.
How many pages can be analyzed?
The crawl is capped at 500 pages by default, adjustable up to 100,000 URLs. Thanks to batch mode and SQLite storage, the tool handles sites with tens of thousands of pages without trouble.
Does the tool respect robots.txt?
Yes, when the option is enabled (default). The user agent is LinkDepthBot. You can also disable it to analyze areas blocked in pre-production.
Is any data kept?
Results are stored locally in a SQLite database on the server so you can resume an analysis. No tracking, no data resold — everything is explainable and exportable.
